5th class children who took part in the Tomás Ó Riordán blitz in Glanmire on 3rd of May.

All classes have been out competing in the Run Around Ireland Challenge. Despite the bad weather some classes have made it as far north as Dublin already!! Well done everyone and keep it up!!

The winners of the Run Around Ireland Challenge trophy were Ms Linehan’s Senior Infants. They managed to make it to all the destinations on the map! What an incredible achievement for them all, well done!

In March, Ruby-Lou Keane in 6th class represented Ireland in the Euro Dance Championships 2023 in England. Congratulations Ruby-Lou, we are all very proud of you!

Members of all three 6th classes enjoying the recent 5 a side FAI soccer tournament. Excellent performances from both teams!

Junior Infants – 2nd Class had lots of fun doing Yoga with Ms Duggan during Wellbeing Week. The children tried out some animal poses such as rhino pose, polar bear pose and elephant pose.

Mr Murphy’s 6th Class really enjoyed organising and running an Orienteering treasure hunt to mark World Book Day 2023. The children had to look for book covers, designed by 6th class, which were hidden all around the school and playground. The children followed a map to help them to find each clue.

Our dance leaders got everybody moving on yard on Thursday and Friday for #feelgoodfriday. We had the best lunch break🎊🎙️🎹!!!

Sciath na Scol training started back on Wednesdays after school for the boys and girls in 4th to 6th Class.

On Wednesday 15th February, to end our 10 Day Travel challenge, the Student Council and Green Schools Committee organised a ‘Walk in Red’ Day in aid of Turkey and Syria. Junior and Senior Infants walked to the Plaza and 1st to 6th Classes walked the ring of the village.

On February 1st, the boys in 3rd Class took part in a hurling blitz in Little Island.

In January, we took part in the Climb the Heights Skipping Challenge. We had lots of fun competing against each other as part of #Feel Good Friday!

4th class boys who took part in an indoor hurling Sciath na Scol competition in Little Island on the 17th of January. With big numbers interested we were lucky to be able to bring two teams along giving all the lads plenty of game time and winning a couple of hard fought games along the way. Boys did themselves and their school proud. Thanks also to parents who kindly gave spins and support on the day.

SANTA DASH 2022
The whole school had a great time getting fit yesterday at our Santa Dash around the school. Santa even came to lead us in some exercises! What a great way to ‘Get fit and Don’t Quit’ on Christmas week! Thanks to the Active School Committee and the Student Council for organising!

We had a very special visitor to our school in November, World Champion rower, Alison Bergin! Alison is a past pupil of our school and was delighted when the Active School Committee invited her to come in and promote our 4 weeks of Active Breaks.

5th Class had great fun having a “Terrifying” Table Tennis Tournament for #ActiveHalloweeen

We had a super day at the end of October to mark the Midterm Break with a Halloween Disco! Huge thank you to the Student Council for organising such a brilliant event. The Best Dressed Staff member was Ms Warner as Cruella de Vil. The overall best homemade costumes were by Anna Fennell and Hannah Noonan who dressed up as popcorn!





Huge Congratulations to our U12 girls who won the County Final on the 16th of October against Carrigtwohill! What an amazing achievement and such fantastic role models to have for our younger pupils!

Our 4th Class boys took part in a football blitz in PĂĄirc UĂ­ Chaoimh on the 12th of October at the 4G pitch. A fantastic day was had by everyone and it was a great opportunity for the boys to work on their football skills.

The East Cork Primary Cross Country took place on Friday morning, 7th of October, in Ballymacoda with boys and girls from Senior Infants right up to 6th Class representing the school. Well done to all the children who took part – a fantastic group of runners who supported and cheered each other on!
